by Dan Gheesling

I’m very excited to release this 3 part Podcast Series because it is going to help you tremendously!

In this Podcast you are going to get to hear  the second part of the amazing 11 year casting story of  Troy “Troyzan” Robertson from Survivor One World.  It is truly a one in a million story that you have to hear for yourself to believe.  If you haven’t listened to the first part, I highly recommend you go back and listen to it before you listen to part 2.

If you think you’ve had a rough go at trying to get on Reality TV, Troy’s story will inspire and motivate you to keep on applying.

Podcast Notes:

You can listen to the podcast right here on the website by clicking gray play button above or you can download it right from the link below to listen on your computer or iPod.

The Podcast is also available in iTunes, you can subscribe by clicking this link.

All Podcasts are recorded in one take, no re-dos or anything.

The reason I am doing this is because I want to record a Podcast as if I was directly talking to you in a conversation.   Not a glossed over edited unrealistic conversation.  When edits come into play, the human element and error is lost.

Hey Dan :D

Thanks for another awesome edition man! I check up on both of your sites everyday and they inspire me to motivate myself and improve every area of my life. Words can’t express how much you’ve helped me since the start of this year in keeping me positive and on track. Are you going to submit anymore articles on iwouldcoach? Looking forward to everything you do, as always…

Hey Dan,

I wanted to leave a comment here to let you know what I thought. I have to be honest I only got to listen to half of the first podcast on Troy. (have to go back and hear it) I apologize, I’ve been so busy. But I did want to hear all of this one!.
I honestly think his story is alot like yours. One of my favorite parts was you laughing in the background here and there.. I have a feeling you recognized, heard and felt a lot of your experience in his.
I really loved the part where he said worrying about what you want won’t get you what you want, you have to be positive about it. Also, the part about needing to do what you know is right for you regardless of others opinions. I am so totally in agreement with that and I love more than anything, hopeful inspirational stories like this.
Thanks for all your work Dan. I have a feeling you are putting a lot of yourself into these. I’m a little impressed. :)
You sound like you have been doing this for a long time. You asked good questions, listened ..and sounded comfortable interviewing him.
Good job!
Thanks again!
Colleen :) C’ya! :)

Thanks for the kind words Colleen! Glad you enjoyed it.

Steve June 25, 2012 at 7:54 pm

Hi Dan…it’s me again Steve….another great interview..I don’t know much about media in general but in my humble opinion, I think this type on interview would be great t.v. intertainment for the general public. A sort of “reality” within the reality arena. It could be different twist among talk shows..ie scenes from the show while you are conducting the interview with (who ever) Another great job Dan (and Troy). The balance was great except your audio. Bump up your volume a little. (Like I know what the hell I’m talking about!!) I don’t even qualify as a nurd.
Thanks Dan for listening to this old fart

Dan Gheesling June 26, 2012 at 3:40 pm

Steve – thanks for the tip! Although I am pleased with the audio quality, there is always room for improvement (I agree, I needed to my channel gain up!).

Thanks for listening! I hope you enjoy the conclusion of his story!

This is so amazing. I lost my job on 6-12 & Ive been out of the loop. I looked over ur twitter 2nite & discovered part 2 had been published. It is so awesome to hear how passionate Troy was, how he approached things (so similiar to you) & how never give up was his constant mantra.

As I listened I thought of his comment about staying positive. Losing my job has been a real kick to my spirit. Then there’s the “drought” I’m in w/casting…for u kbow what. I cant wait to hear how Troy dealt w/that & what he did to stay motivated & positive in his pursuit.

I found the Ellen teaser completely interesting bcuz Ive thought about writing Ellen about mine & my wife’s story in our desire to move to VT for equality. Throwing in my chase of this ongoing dream (Ive been at it since 2001) was a possible side note.

Now, you might be referring to just “an” Ellen & not “the” Ellen…but I found it interesting all the same. :)

Thank you so much for doing this. Please tell Troy thank you as well, it’s loaded w/insight, tips, knowledge & helpfulness!

You’re going to be a mentor on the show! Explains why you were away from your site for that chunk of time! Maybe the producers/CBS got the mentor idea from your website itself and how you’ve been helping all of us. Congrats.

Bob Flynne July 2, 2012 at 4:17 am

And that explains why he didn’t reply to my above comment!! The pieces in the puzzle are all coming together now…

Jose July 3, 2012 at 9:48 pm

I’m loving the podcast with Troy! I just wanted to say a quick thing. You guys were talking about the psych tests and you mention that it was great that he was trying to answer the questions based on his character or what not. I’m not so sure if that is a good idea for future applicants because most psych tests have validity scales which can tell when a person may be lying or filling out the questionnaire inconsistently.

tori September 21, 2012 at 8:36 pm

Jose, I agree with you. I thought the same way while I was listening. I know from experience with taking these kinds of tests while being evaluated for depression. I think that in these kinds of instances it is always wise to be truthful. Now, when you are “playing” the games such as Survivor then we are talking a whole different “animal”. (Dan without a doubt you should have won BB. I know you learned an important lesson about bitter jurors, I am disappointed by them myself.)

jah July 7, 2012 at 10:42 pm

already commented on twitter about this and looks like someone else pointed out the sound was screwy on this episode;

anywho when’s part 3 dropping? gracious

George September 21, 2012 at 5:06 pm

Where is part 3 located at? Loved parts 1 and 2.

Kip September 24, 2012 at 5:33 pm

Great story. Question…

Do the networks send out rejection letters to everyone who auditioned or only those that made it to a next round of sorts and ultimately did not make it?

Thanks and great job on BB14 You got robbed. It is a shame that others vote based on emotion vs. who played the game best

Stephanie October 14, 2012 at 11:43 pm

When can we expect Part 3? I can’t wait to hear the rest of the interview.

FANTASTIC job on BB14 by the way.

Michael Payan October 15, 2012 at 5:05 pm

Hey Dan,

Any word on when the 3rd part of the Troyzan interview will be posted? Obviously you went back in the house before being able to release it.

Looking forward to it. Thanks!
